Jute is a plant-based textile fibre introduced in Brazil by the Japanese. It plays an important role in the settlement
and economic activity of the native riverside communities “Os Ribeirinhos” in the Amazon region. The jute is
planted on the banks of the Amazon river at the beginning of low tides and grows naturally with the changes of
the tides. The mud that is left after the water level comes down acts as a natural fertiliser and ensures the crop’s
natural growth. Jute offers a wide range of crafty possibilities for indoor and outdoor projects. Hoooked Jute collection
