History:
1922
The company Steidl & Becker was founded as a chalk factory by Julius G. Becker and Carl Steidl in Hamburg. The company old logo bears the year 1925 because for many years, this was believed to be the founding year. However, documents have since surfaced confirming the foundation in 1922.
The company relocated to Großalmerode. From November, J. G. Becker continued running the company. Later, August Meywirth acquired the business, though the exact date is unknown.
In May, Willy Meywirth acquired the company and managed it until 1976.
Siegfried Meywirth took over the company.
The company Steidl & Becker, ESBE-Kreidefabrik GmbH was established.
Alexander Meywirth joined the company.
The company launched its first website at www.steidl-becker.com.
Andreas Meywirth joined the company.
The warehouse was expanded, and a Warehouse Management System was introduced to improve inventory management and shipping. The new website was also launched.
The company name was changed from Steidl & Becker, ESBE-Kreidefabrik GmbH to Steidl & Becker GmbH. Alexander Meywirth was appointed CEO.
A new warehouse was constructed.
The company website was relaunched with an entirely new design.
Siegfried Meywirth retired. Alexander Meywirth continued to run the business in the 4th generation.
