This shear is made for left-handers. The true left-handed Fabric Shear from the Midnight Edition is a professional, industrial-grade tool. Both the handles and the blades are mirrored, making it a genuine left-handed shear. Crafted from durable carbon steel, reinforced with manganese, and finished with the signature Midnight coating. The blades are slightly concave and precisely aligned, allowing them to glide effortlessly through multiple layers of fabric. If you have previously used right-handed scissors with your left hand, there may be a short adjustment period. For best results, keep the shear as straight as possible while cutting. Move the handles only in the open-and-close motion and avoid applying sideways pressure, as this can force the blades apart and cause the fabric to fold rather than cut.

As hexagon quilts are more and more popular, quilters appetites for more shapes in the hexagon family must be answered. Happily, both of these shapes also can be used for very nice One Patch scrap quilts. These shapes are also used to make the popular Antique Rose block. Six equilateral triangles are created by connecting opposite corners of a hexagon. In a similar way six kite shapes are created by connecting the center point of opposite flat sides of a hexagon. A Crown is the shape created when 2 kites are joined on one long side. They are 1/3 of a hexagon and can often be used to replace cutting and sewing two kites.
